Gastronomy Award "Insider Tip"

We are among the winners of the gastronomy competition "Taste of Southern Palatinate 2018"! Our restaurant is now officially an "insider tip"!

For our participation in the gastronomy competition "Taste of Southern Palatinate 2018", we have created two very special menus meeting the requirements of this year's competition. This year's motto was "Cabbage and Roots" - regional winter vegetables. That's how dishes such as baked scallop in a savory coat, parsnip mousseline, truffled black salsify ragout, savoy roulade, lemon & thyme cake and carrot vanilla ice cream were created. With such imaginative menus we were chosen as finalists in the competition - how exciting!

Things went even more exciting in January, when the competition began: Our guests could order the competition menu in our restaurant, and we prepared one lovely dish after the other, until March. After their dinner, our guests could evaluate their meal, giving marks for different criteria. The votes were collected in a locked ballot box. We have done our best - cooked, rolled, cut, baked, shaped, truffled, and mixed - all we could do after March, when the competition had finished, was wait.

On Monday, 23rd April we were invited to the award evening. Taking plenty of finger food, like our competitors, we were excited to know who the winners would be. One price after the other was handed out. Finally, when it came to the last price - the popular Insider Tipp Award - our name was called out!

Thank you to all our guests who ordered one of the tasty cabbage&roots menus and evaluated it. A big thank you goes to our regulars who liked it so much they came several times during the competition and ate their way through all the dishes. Thanks to all those who recommended us and came back bringing their friends along. Without you, this wouldn't have been possible!
